Workshop
The Halifax Tool Library has a Workshop space hidden inside!
Our shop is well appointed with dust collection, compressed air, two bandsaws, a 6″ jointer, 12″ planer, two lathes, compound miter saw, several routers, sanders, oscillating spindle sander, and a professional grade Saw Stop table saw.
All workshop shifts are Supervised by Volunteers that have experience in various trades that are able to help you with your project plans, designs, tool use and cuts!
Members are welcome to use the workshop during all operating hours, except when Programs are running.
PRIOR to using the Workshop, ALL Members and Volunteers MUST take the Workshop Basics Course.
** There will be no exceptions, Regardless of Skill Level. This class walks you through all of the tools in the Workshop, keeps our Members Safer, and helps in reducing wear & tear on our Workshop Tools.
Because the Workshop Basics courses are typically full for a month or more at any time, members who are signed up for a course but have yet to take it can use the workshop by reserving time in the workshop.
To reserve time in the workshop please email Operations@halifaxtoollibrary.ca
Reservations are not required once you have completed your Workshop Basics Class.
