On July 29, the Halifax Tool Library is inviting North-End residents of all backgrounds to an Ideas Dinner to discuss how we can use these tools to: 1. support the projects of existing groups, and 2. create new hands-on ways for people to participate in improving their community.

Potential projects could include building public furniture, rain garden planters, community gardens, mentorship, park fix ups, creating accessible infrastructure, a Community Corps, build-a-thons, fix-a-thons and more. All are possible, but what we decide to do depends on what residents desire.

We are hoping to have the widest possible variety of community groups represented at the event because we believe hands-on volunteerism is an opportunity to create connections between residents who might not otherwise meet each other.
