One full Year of membership with HTL! This membership gives the member annual access to the library and the workshop for 12 months. Unlimited tool borrowing for the year. Membership may include a secondary member on their profile. We provide a second card for the secondary member.

Organizational Membership
Access our services for up to 4 organization members. Organizations receive 4 access cards for their team when they sign-up.

Volunteer Membership
Free membership for all active volunteers in any role.
The HTL asks for active volunteers to maintain two volunteer shifts/activities per month to keep their volunteer status in good standing.

Cost: Six Hours Monthly Work
$40 – Intro Membership
This 4 punch card option is for members who only need a few tools, or just want to try us out.
HTL Intro membership gives an individual access to both the library and the workshop (with booking). Card expires after one year. Unlimited tool borrowing within the 4 visits.
Returns do not count as a punch.
Visits to the workshop or loan visits to the library count against the 4 punches on the card.
Only one member is allowed on this membership type – no secondary member.
New member cost: $42.50/year (includes activation fee)
Renewing member cost: $40/year
Community Membership
If our membership fees provide a significant barrier to you accessing tools. We offer low cost or free memberships to community members of modest means. We are committed to making our services accessible to all.

Activation Fee
All new memberships will be charged a nominal activation fee. This fee will not be charged to members who renew at or before their anniversary date. A grace period of one month following the membership expiry date will be granted.
Beyond that, expired memberships will be asked to pay this fee when they pay for a new membership.
This fee supports our Workshop Basics program, our sustainability goals, better ensures membership continuity and helps us manage seasonal highs and lows we experience in revenue while maintaining the same level of service year-round.
Cost: $5 (annual memberships) or $2.50 (intro memberships) for new or expired members
Discounts
Discounts are not combinable or transferrable.
- Students qualify for a 10% discount on any membership level. (all levels with student ID)
- Seniors (60+ with proof of age) qualify for a 10% discount on any membership level
- CUA Members (with bank card) qualify for a 10% discount on any membership level
- $15 discount with members’ referral card
