How do I become a member?

1. Figure out which membership type is best for you. Scroll down to read about your options.

2. Create a user account in our inventory system by following this link.

3. Pay for your membership. You can visit us in person and pay with cash, debit, or credit. Alternatively, you can pay online with PayPal or by sending an e-transfer to info@halifaxtoollibrary.ca.

4. Visit us in person and pick up your membership card.

5. Bam, you’re a member! Thanks so much for joining our community!

$75 Annual Borrowing Membership

Unlimited borrowing from the library for one year. Up to two individuals from the same household. Loan period is for one week. Renewals may be requested in person, by phone, or by email.

$30 Intro Borrowing Membership

Gives new HTL members three visits to the library with the same benefits as Annual Members. Loan period is for one week. Renewals may be requested in person, by phone, or by email.

$150 Annual lending & Workshop Membership

All the benefits of an Annual Borrowing Membership plus access to HTL’s workshop for one year during opening hours. Workshop access requires advance reservations (by emailing info@halifaxtoollibrary.ca). Additional friends and family may accompany the member with a donation of $5 per person, per visit.

$30 Intro Workshop Membership

Gives existing members (any level) three visits to the HTL Workshop.Workshop access requires advance reservations (by emailing info@halifaxtoollibrary.ca).

$60 Intro Lending & Workshop Membership

A combination of the Intro Borrowing and Intro Workshop memberships. Three visits to the HTL library and three visits to the workshop.

$190 Organizational borrowing Membership

Borrowing privileges for up to 4 members of an organization for one year. Workshop access is available for an additional fee with a reservation. (reservations can be made in person, by phone or email in advance)

$0 Charity/Not For Profit (NFP) Organizational Borrowing Membership

Borrowing privileges for up to 4 members of an organization for one year. Workshop access is available for an additional fee with a reservation. (reservations can be made in person, by phone or email in advance)
